  • Vintage Compote, Pedestal Candy Dish with Lid, Hand Painted Pink Roses, Japan Imports, Romantic, Maximalist Home Decor,  (Discontinued)
  • Made in Japan
  • Vintage:  1949 - 1962
  • Details:  This porcelain compote is a beautiful work of art!  It is all hand painted in with gorgeous pink and white roses with green and brown leaves, against a beige/brown painted porcelain background.  It has a ruffled, some would say sawtooth, border, with wonderful leaf-shaped handles and a very ornate foot.  The lid finial has a floral shape and it's gilded.  The porcelain has a subtle embossed pattern, we tried to capture it in the pictures.  It is very unique, although we've seen this roses pattern, we've never seen this shape.  This is an import from Japan, sold by Lipper & Mann, a New York City importer.  It retains its original foil sticker:  "Lipper & Mann Creations, Japan".  Great side table decor, on a shelf, or on a dresser to hold jewelry or any other small treasure. It is in absolutely perfect condition and ready for gift giving!
  • Material:  Porcelain
  • Dimensions:  5.75 inches Tall (including lid), 6.5 inches Wide, 5.0 inches Deep.
  • Condition:  Vintage - Used.   Excellent Condition.  We could find no scratches, cracks, or chips on this piece.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.

Lipper & Mann was started in 1946 New York by Hal Lipper and Seymour Mann.  Originally importing wares from Europe, and selling to major department stores, independent shops, jewelry stores and home furnishing stores. In 1949 their inventory and selection grew, they started importing from Japan and added figurines, dinnerware sets, tea sets, etc. They are well known for their Blue Danube blue and white dinnerware pattern (very similar to Blue Onion), we believe it was introduced in 1951.  In 1963, Seymour Lipper bought out Hal Mann and changed the company name to Lipper International, Inc.  In the 1980's they moved to Wallingford, Connecticut, they are still in business today.
